I was born, raised and remain in the small community of Cobargo, Yuin Country, on the Far South Coast of NSW.

I am a creative practitioner with a mixed-discipline practice. With a background in the traditional crafts of calligraphy and book arts, I have an enduring interest in language, text and book forms, but my process-oriented arts practice has evolved to include photography, video, sculpture and installation as well as socially-engaged art working. In the past I have primarily worked with salvaged books and the book form exploring ideas about knowledge and place, self, site and sustainability.

On NYE, 2019 my community was devastated by the Badja Forest Road firestorm and everything changed. From early 2020-2026 I operated as project lead on large-scale disaster recovery projects in my community including the creation and construction of the Cobargo Bushfire Resilience Centre on the main street of Cobargo and delivering the Badja Forest Road Fire oral history project in partnership with the National Library or Australia. 

In 2026 I completed my PhD with the University of Canberra. My research project, Ash Alchemy: Art after Fire, examines what creative practice (or a creative practitioner) can contribute to practical community recovery in the aftermath of disaster.
